Abstract submission

 

    All abstracts proposals to the SECF18 meeting will be submitted through the Congress webpage http://cadiz.congresoseci.com/secfcadiz2018/index, tab "Comunicaciones", subtab "envío online". Deadline for abstract submission is June 15th at 23:59 (peninsular time).

    Authors are requested to send an abstract in English according to the following instructions for its publication in a special supplement issue of the Journal of Physiology and Biochemistry. Only original studies will be accepted for presentation and publication. They will not have been previously published, or presented in another meeting.


During the submission process, authors must provide the following information:

 

Communication preference: Oral or Poster (see below)

Topic of interest: This information will be used by the Scientific Committee to schedule the abstract in the appropriate session

Title (max 200 characters): Must reflect the emphasis and content of the study, do not include abbreviations and be written in capital letters.

Authors: Provide the initials (e.g. J.A.) and surnames (in this order) for all authors. Do not include degrees or titles. In the case of end-of-degree projects, both the student and the project director (o co-directors) will be listed as authors.

Affiliation: List all the institutions involved in the study (Department, Institution, City, Country).

Body Text:

Maximum 400 words. Authors are responsible for the literary standard of submitted abstracts. Failure in the use of language may lead to immediate rejection of the abstract.

Standard abbreviations do not need explanation. Otherwise abbreviations must be defined in brackets after their first mention in the text.

Abstract can contain text only – graphs, pictures or formulas cannot be inserted.

Structure your abstract to include relevant background information, study aims, methodology, results and conclusions.

Key words (a minimum of three and a maximum of six).

 

      Studies involving animal or human research

    Authors must confirm the study has been undertaken under the approval of the appropriate Ethics committee for human or animal research, by selecting the corresponding option in the submission form.

Please mention the species involved in the study in the title of the abstract.

   

    There is no limit for the number of abstracts a person can be involved in. However, a person can only be the presenter for a maximum of two communications

To be accepted, at least one of the authors of a communication must register for the Congress. There is a limit of two communications for each person registering for the Congress.

  

    All the abstracts submitted to the SECF18 meeting can be scheduled as two different modalities:

Oral presentations: live speech aided by a slide presentation. Duration of 15 minutes with 5 additional minutes for question/answers

Poster: all poster communications will be presented in printed format on a poster board. At least one of the authors must be present at the assigned screen during the poster sessions. 

    The Scientific Committee will evaluate the scientific merit and formal correctness for all the received abstracts presented by registered attendees, and will schedule them to specific topic sessions. The Scientific Committee may overrule the author’s choice and assign an abstract to Oral or Poster status.
 
    Presenting authors will receive confirmation of their abstract submission. Once the evaluation process is completed, they will be communicated the status and schedule for their abstracts.
